Whales have been an object of human fascination since the beginning of time. Did you know that they are known to teach, learn, cooperate, scheme, and even grieve?
Here is an interesting fact: The blue whale (see picture below) is believed to be the largest animal ever to have lived. The maximum recorded weight was 190 tonnes for a specimen measuring 30 m (98 ft).
I have never seen a whale in person but it must be a powerful experience.

So. Much. Awesomeness! I don’t think I could use the whale wrapping paper for an actual gift. The thought of it being torn to shreds by a 5 year old and forgotten in less than 3 seconds makes me sad. Tristan’s Mocha Dick-love it so much!

I know, Laurie! That whale wrapping paper is the cutest! And the giant whale by Tristan Lowe is amazing. It must be impressive in person.

Whales are fascinating! Of course I’ve seen them in places like Sea World (living in San Diego that’s a given)…but the absolute BEST experience was a few years ago when we were on an Alaskan cruise leaving Glacier Bay….we were doing our walk around the deck when suddenly there appeared dozens of whales!! One even jumped about 50 feet from the ship….so beautiful and even better was to witness them in their natural surroundings.
You’re so lucky, Gina! I wish that I could see what you saw on the cruise. Nothing like seeing an animal in its natural surroundings 🙂
