Dear friends and family. I’m in jumping in here for a minute to let you know that we’re doing great. This road trip is going great so far. The starting point was Idyllwild. Nature said good-bye to us over there with a little rain, which is very unusual in that area. We saw those drops as a good sign. Thanks, nature!
In the picture below you can see 7 vehicles, one of them is ours. Can you guess which one it is? I will give you a clue: black with a tail on the back. Yay! We are carrying that tiny trailer with us wherever we go. You cannot go anywhere without it because it is connected to the car in a way that it includes some electric wires. Bill has to drive very carefully. He is passing the test great so far.
Below you see the view from our first hotel room in this trip, where we are enjoying our first stop. The name of the hotel is The Palazzo, here in Las Vegas. This place is a bit insane to say the least. You find all kinds of things everywhere here, specially gambling machines. The place is designed in a way that it is very easy to get lost. But every time you get lost you end up surrounded of gambling machines that look at you like saying: dooooon’t worryyyyy, what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas. I think that the architects worked in collaboration with the gambling business people to create this effective dynamic. Lots of people give up trying to find their rooms so they end up gambling. Instead of gambling we enjoy watching the huge variety of people in this place. It is fascinating. It is like a movie.
Last night (our only night here) we had dinner with the most special family ever. I can’t even tell you how wonderful it was meeting them for the first time. That would take a whole post. But right now I can tell you that we went to the Cake Boss restaurant here and it was amazing. We highly recommend it. The food was delicious and the dessert menu was a little photo album with pictures of Buddy and his family from the past.
OK, right now we are getting ready for moving on into the next thing: The Grand Canyon.
Have a wonderful day!
The Horbergs 🙂
Thank you for letting us come along for the journey. It’s such fun to vicariously be your passenger and see the world from your eyes and camera. Sending joyous spirits to accompany you on your trip.
