The other day I cleaned our Frida Kahlo dollhouse, so I decided to take some new pictures of it for you. I hope that you enjoy them!
Have a wonderful Friday and a restful weekend!
Elsita
PS: I made this dollhouse for my daughter Natalie in 2007. For the house I used a kit from www.miniatures.com called The Sugarplum Cottage by Greenleaf. It comes in pieces but it is easy to ensemble and paint. I made 90% of the objects that you see in the pictures, including the Frida doll. The rest I found at the flea markets.
This is pure awesomeness! I want to be tiny and live there.
I love this house so much. What a beautiful tribute and a work of art.
how lovely! thank you for inviting us to visit Fridita

Holy cow! It’s so beautiful! I’ve never seen it before. Thanks for sharing photos of it. What is the house made of? Paper? Cardboard? Clay? It’s so detailed and amazing. Have you actually been to her house in Mexico? I’d love to visit it.
Que maravilla!
Beautiful details.

There was a Frieda look-alike contest in Albuquerque. I think all the women look fabulous.
Beautiful dollhouse especially with the added personal touches! I just finished a novel called The Lacuna by Barbara Kingsolver; the author does an amazing job of bringing Frida’s character to life and loved the evolving relationship between Frida and the main character. Book is long but definitely worth the read.
This is so amazing! I especially love the miniature animal pots in the last photo on the lower left. They couldn’t be more perfect. Wow.
