Today Art is a Way is celebrating the life of Ernesto Tamayo, a super talented guitarist and beautiful human being who is, very unfortunately, suffering from an advanced stage of brain cancer. In behave of all his friends, students, and people who have been touched by his music, I want to say:
Thank you, Ernesto, for dedicating your precious life to cultivating and teaching music. You have touched many people’s souls with your remarkable talent and sensitive heart. We all want to send you our love and appreciation. We hope that this modest, but heartfelt homage makes you happy, regardless of the difficult circumstances that you are experiencing at this time. Music is something magic and universal that connect us all. You are now and forever connected to many people on planet Earth.

The music you played will never leave this earth because your soul that you put into your music is going to be with all of us. Your music is an art. The art enriches our hearts and souls. Thank you, Ernesto for giving us this wonderful opportunity to hear your voice through the sounds of your guitar. Your legacy will continue to grow inside your students who you have taught and shared your talent with and some day they will be the one teaching to younger generation. Most importantly, we thank you millions to follow your passion in life.
Warmly,

Dear Ernesto, your gifts carry radiance, your music is full of joy and full of duende. Gifts such as yours, passions such as yours, the generous wish to give to others through your performances, composing and teaching will be an endless progression, the way a pebble skipped over a wave will leap and leap and leap, and the ripples continue in the direction of the horizon. You can’t know where you have left a handprint on someone’s heart. Peace and love, go with God, Ernesto.
As your music heals our heart, may you be healed by all the sincere blessings and brings back the loving melody once again.
Enersto, maestero, you have dedicated your life to the most transient form of art, music. She is a goddess that that manifests herself in our souls with an essence of eternity. Thank you for your resounding joy in capturing this most beautiful muse in the strings of your guitar. May your soul play forever, as your music does in our ears and hearts.
Dear Ernesto,
Thanks for creating such beautiful music, it carried me to many precious memories, thank you.
I also wanted to send a piece of music- that I hope you like. It’s played by a woman by the name of Annapurna Devi on a Surbahar which is a plucked string instrument from the tradition of Hindustani classical music. It is an old recording, you can listen to it here:

Hola Ernesto.
Ernesto,
We are thinking of you and hoping that your music will bring you comfort and peace during this difficult time. We have been very fortunate to know you and had the pleasure of you sharing your music with us. We have lost touch since your illness and hope we can somehow reach you and share our stories of the times we spent together. We love you and will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Miss you,
Margie &Ed
If possible, please let us know how we can reach Fernanda. Ernesto had been a flight student of Ed and we became friends and have spoke to him a couple of months before his illness. He had played guitar at our daughter Bethany’s wedding which we will never forget. We have tried to reach him by phone and mail. We realize is illness is serious and wish to see him.
I found he was in hospice but is now residing in Silver Spring with his parents.
We would greatly appreciate if you contact with any information.
Thanks for your help.
