I am in love with this series of sculptures by Amy Santoferraro. They are so clever! I admire the artist’s sense of play and discovery.
“I enjoy putting objects and stories together piece by piece and welcome the layers and silly connections that develop from my making and thought processes.” –Amy Santoferraro
Santoferraro’s statement inspired my daughter Natalie and I to try a creative experiment. We are going to give ourselves a challenge: find 5 objects from around our house and arrange them in interesting ways. Then we will take pictures of the results. I cannot wait to see what we come out with!

These are so fun! I love the “let’s not take ourselves so seriously” philosophy behind them. A true artist can make art out of anything. Thanks for the introduction to her work!

You’re welcome, Lesley! I love the fearless element in Amy Santoferraro’s sculptures. Even my daughter Natalie who’s only 10 year old saw it as soon as I showed her these pieces. You’re so right, a true artist can make art out of anything 🙂

Hi Elsa,
I’ve been a big time fan of yours for a long time. I love how easy and honest you are and your work inspires me to no end. I’ve just started to discover this section of your blog and this particular artist reminds me of Sabine Timm’s work in this light hearted way. I’m not even sure if you’ve all ready featured her or if you’ve even seen her work.
Thank you Elsa for all you are doing.
