Today I’m excited to share what I did to my sheds. I painted flowers on them!
They don’t look sad anymore. The larger one will have to go eventually, because it’s not in good shape. But I’m happy to look at it now.
The smaller one has a little broken corner on the left side of the roof. I didn’t try to fix it because I discovered that some little mouse uses it as a door to get inside the shed. I washed that shed with water before I painted it, and a tiny mouse came out all wet and confused. He didn’t understand what was going on. I felt really sorry for him. He was so so so cute with his tiny round eyes.
There is so much to do in the area around our house. It has great potential for turning into something beautiful and special. But it will take time. Right now I’m focusing on enjoying the process.
Here’s a closeup of the painted door. It’s a tree that produces different types of fruits and flowers. I would like to have a tree like this in real life.
Below is the super duper old shed. It seems like at some point it got the roof replaced, that part is not too bad. But the rest is ready to collapse. I wish that we could save it.
I hope that you liked what I did to my sheds. And I hope that they liked what I did to them as well.
Now I wish you a happy Friday and a wonderful weekend!
Elsita 🙂
i just love your style! Looking at these from my window would give me so much joy! The new thing going now is ” she sheds”…a woman’s version of the man cave. Looks like you’ve got a great start!
Thanks, Rae! I love looking at these sheds from my kitchen window. 🙂

So gorgeous!
The sheds as well as the setting!
Thanks, Susan! The setting is really special. It’s not only how it looks, but all the birds that spend the day singing around here. 🙂

Geez Louise, Elsa, you have the magic touch!
They really do look happier!! Maybe you could build a structure inside the old one and support it somehow..is that even possible?! I just love the old look of him..!
Elsa, you created the happiest-looking sheds I’ve EVER seen! (I wanted to mention that I just last night finished reading Paper Cutting, and thoroughly enjoyed the section featuring your art!) Smiles, Linda at Paper Seedlings
Wow! I dream to live in a place like this! I love nature! You are so lucky. Have a wonderful weekend too 🙂
That super duper old shed is so lovable, the wood is just beautiful! Like plumage. Sad that it can’t stay…
What a wonderful door you’ve painted! Nothing but magic behind it, I’m sure!

I love the happy sheds. Now if I could only talk my husband into letting me (and helping me) to paint ours with something like that. HA!

So cute about the little mouse. I love your sheds, and I was just daydreaming last night about what to do with my backyard shed! I especially like the tree of life motif, I collect fabrics with it. and I think your old shed still has lots of life left in it 🙂
Great idea and beautiful! now I know what to do with our garage door.
bellisimas!
Todo lo que tocas se convierte en oro 🙂
How would one go about locating a company to provide mural restoration in Chicago?
I love the sheds! The basement, too! I think I’ll do something like this to our new basement and carriage house. You are so right about all of the things to be done when you have a new/old home…fun, though.
I have been tirelessly searching for a local gallery that supports and specializes in local art in Denver.
What a brilliant and beautiful idea (again!)–but my favorite thing is your compassion for the little mouse 🙂
The big shed has so much charm! I bet it could totally be saved! And I love the flowers you painted on them.
Steel sheds are really durable right? With the proper paint it you could protect it from the weather and make it lasts longer.
Get a steel shed. It last really long time and very secure.
