Here is a little advance of something special that I’m working on. It is a book written by Jill Kearney, who is a writer, an artist, a philanthropist, a mother of 3 amazing girls, and someone who I admire very much.
The book is a series of essays that will make you smile, cry, and ultimately think about the complex thing that being a woman is. The image below is about hair, which is the title of one of the essays.
This piece is about 8.5″ x 11″, done with acrylic paint on paper.
I hope that you enjoyed the sneak peek 🙂

it’s about that blue. . .
lovely! I often am reminded of egg tempera, with your painted illustrations.
It’s a luminescent quality of both rapidity, the quick gesture, without fear–and patience. The building up over time. fitting, eh?
🙂
Thanks, Alison!
I love egg tempera. The type of acrylic that I used in this painting is just like tempera. The pigment is highly concentrated and the finish opaque. It dries quick too. Here is the link: http://www.dickblick.com/products/blick-matte-acrylics/?clickTracking=true
