After receiving her BFA in ceramics from the University of the Arts in Philadelphia, Mary O’Malley now lives in New York, where she creates her work out of a barn on the south shore of Long Island. In the artist’s own words:

“The composition of barnacles and crustaceans populating each piece, the way the iron oxide discovers every nook of the creatures I’ve created, the way the tentacles warp in the firings, etc., is always a surprise. I’m never exactly sure how anything’s going to turn out.”

To view more of O’Malley’s beautiful work, I invite you to visit her website and Facebook page. Also, to help support her education (she looks forward to pursuing an MA at the Royal College of Art this fall) the artist is offering special prices of some of her work.
