Fables de la Fontaine. Book in Progress (post 9)
Yay!!
The second illustration is finished!
As you can see the colors here represent a morning scene. I want each illustration to have a totally different atmosphere in order to make the book more fun. As you pass the pages you will go from one atmosphere to the next. I don’t want the pages to be super predictable, each one should be a little surprise
The food on this table is only about ten percent of what I wanted to include.
Food itself could be a theme for a separate book. Someone should write a children’s book just about yummy foods and maybe turn them into little characters. Maybe someone has already done so.
Yum, Yum, Yum!
Seeing this finished illustration makes me so happy!

What wonderful, fun art you do, Elsa,
Thanks so much for sharing,
xoxo
So wonderful!
You are soooo amazing! I love the mice and the food looks great
Dear Elsa – these are so great. Its wonderful to see the illustrations happening everyday. The textures are amazing.
I’ve been a fan of your work ever since I found your blog. Being a papercutter myself, its illuminating to see what kind of papers you use and wonder – how did she do THAT????
Thank you!

I adore this one; the details in the food are crazy amazing and the movement of the mice is perfection!
Amazing!!
This is so sweet. I love that the wine label has one of your cameos on it!
Awwww I LOVE this Elsita!!! Fantastic! My children’s book I’ve written has animals that are made out of food whih is a bit similar! xxx
WOW!!!! Me so hungry!! Me so happy!!
Yummy! All around yummy. Your illustrations are so joyful.
This is so great-Take care of your wrist!
Fantastic!! OH, I am SO enjoying watching this process! XX
Boy! Have you been busy?
I love the leaves brocade on the theatre curtains, and all the details on the table’s items! I need to read the fable to understand how the town mouse can leave such table before eating.
I’m looking forward to finding out what the German artist will do with your paper cuts! I hope you’re taking time to relax and rest as well! <3
Marvelous, Elsa! Your desires for each illustration are coming more than true!
Did you stick in real sliced tomatoes on that platter? I think so!
Love them both so far, but this is my favorite! The tiny mice with tiny food is too cute for words. How many hours (average) does it take to do each scene?
The yummy foods are so sweet. This is gonna be the most fantastic book, no doubt about it.
SOOOOO sooooo soooo FUN!!! The mice, the food , the setting…..fabuloso!!!
I am in awe of how quickly you are getting this done! Do you still sleep???
It is so beautiful!
Wow it´s wonderful Elsa! So detailed and cute
WOW, everything on the table is so detailed and exquisite! This is so amazing! Great work Elsa, I am so jealous!
I am absolutely without words…open mouth…:O
Sei fantastica!
Are you doing this book for a Publisher? I will surely buy a book!
Nice work!:-)
This is impressive. I Love your creations they are so cute.
Very to force.Life is a lesson knowledge, you learn not to finish.
Plato said: the first was crying because you’re not, the second laughing because meet you, third smiling tears because can’t have you.
There is noticeably a bundle to learn about this. I assume you made sure nice points in features also.
I believe tears at a funeral are all those the one who died never got to cry while alive. We finish cleansing their soul when we cry.
I love you. That’s all!
I love u too
