Fables de la Fontaine. Book in Progress (post 22)

Here is the bad Fox from The Fox and the Stork fable!

As you can see he’s offering the soup to the Stork with that expression that translates like this: See how nice I am? ;) I’m so innocent icon wink Fables de la Fontaine. Book in Progress (post 22) Please eat my delicious dinner. What a great fox I am. He made the stork so confused at first! But then she realized that he was just having fun at her expense.

Oh little fox! When are you going to change? Why do you give your fellow foxes such a bad reputation?. What would your Mom think if she could see you right now?

I really hope that he becomes a better fox tomorrow, because it’s Mother’s Day. His Mom raised him to be a nicer son. Let’s see what happens.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the Moms tomorrow!!!

  4. Happy Mother’s Day, dear Elsita. Your papercut illustrations are brilliant! Love, Shelley

  5. Being a mother who gets to use this book of fables, with your cutouts, to teach her children right from wrong is a mother’s day gift you will be giving to many, many mothers, most whom you will never get the chance to meet, but all who will be eternally grateful for the help that your book will have given them. Happy Mother’s day to them, in advance, and to you, right now. Carolina

  6. Your fox is looking not that innocent, you captured the perfect expression on his face.
Hope you had a fantastic mothersday!!!!

  7. The bent head and upturned innocent eyes – perfect!
I love how you are using colours and shapes in these illustrations.
    Happy Mothers Day Elsita.

  8. Love it. I wanted to say thankyou today for inspiring me to be more organised as well as creative! I think it is partly about learning to view myself as professional and valuing my work. I have made myself a project book and am writing down what I do each day, and my thoughts on what I need to undertake next. It has been a revelation to me! Not only have I got more done but can look back and think “wow I did good work today!” As I am recovering from M.E. at the moment, it is important to work with more purpose as I only have tiny amounts of time when I am able to work. So Thanks for the inspiration!

  9. Oh, Elsita! I have followed this project nearly post by post. I find it terrific! Every little detail is done with such a care, each figure and each scene is so expressive, so colorful and joyful. This will be a really fabulous book, in the true sense of the word! I congratulate you and thank you for been an inspiration and a motivation, for letting us take part of your work!

  10. Just love how you give such wonderful expressions on the little animal’s faces. This will be a glorious book, and a treasure to anyone buying it or receiving it as a gift.

  11. I just saw the little fox that lives up the hill. I know he is mad with jealousy of your fox and wishes that he had nice clothes too. ;-)

  12. you have instilled so much life in those paper characters
I expect the little fox to jump off the page and attempt to steal my dinner.

  13. See how the sky was black during the day, see how long is the night, and at dawn.

  14. Plato said: the first was crying because you’re not, the second laughing because meet you, third smiling tears because can’t have you.

  15. .Nice one, there is actually some good points on this blog some of my readers may find this useful, I must send a link, many thanks.

  16. I believe tears at a funeral are all those the one who died never got to cry while alive. We finish cleansing their soul when we cry.
