Why Make Art?

Why Make Art?

Richard Serra answers: Why Make Art?

"I always wanted an alternative existence. And by that I mean I wanted to do something where I could study my own sentiments and experiences...I found that I can do that in relation to making things and making art in particular."

Have you ever experienced Richard Serra's art in person? The physical dimension of his work could be overwhelming. Interacting with Serra's monumental sculptures makes you feel so tiny and fragile. I always wanted to know what someone who made something so amazing had to say about art and creativity. Listening to him in this video is inspiring. I hope that you enjoy it.

Have a wonderful weekend my friend, and see you on Monday!

    • Hi ShimonZ, I read that there were some problems going on with my hosting company. Maybe that’s why it was difficult to reach this website today. I hope that things are already back to normal.
