Nostalgic Boxes by Marc Giai- Miniet.
I am so moved by Marc Giai- Miniet‘s work. He is a French artist who creates mysterious boxes populated by tiny books and peculiar artifacts. Marc’s dioramas seem to be representations of abandoned places from an imaginary world. Don’t miss the video on the bottom of this post to capture the atmosphere of Marc’s beautiful boxes.
UPDATE: This morning after this post went life, I got an e-mail from Fabrice Mathieu. He directed a short film inspired by Marc’s miniature worlds. It was done with Marc Giai-Miniet‘s nephew, who is an actor and co-writer in the movie. The name of the short is: Mémoires Vives. They wanted to go inside Marc Giai-Miniet‘s boxes to tell a story about the journey of a man into the Afterlife. Click here to see the trailer. I was extremely lucky to be invited to see the full movie through a private link and OMG! The film is beautifully made, and the story (told without words) has a twist in the end which explains what the tiny books are. I am blown away. Can you guess what the tiny books are? It is really hard to guess.
