4 Tips for Imagination and Creativity to Thrive.
Allow your mind stay as uncomplicated and curious as possible. That is how we learn.
"Life is one big road with lots of signs. So when you're riding through the ruts, don't complicate your mind. Flee from hate, mischief and jealousy. Don't bury your thoughts, put your vision to reality. Wake Up and Live!" -Bob Marley
Remember the way you were as a child and be like that again. That is the original you.
"Believe in miracles. In a world where research is the basis for drawing conclusions and reason is rewarded, allow yourself to believe the unbelievable in life. The word itself, miracle, often seems magical or childish. But don't let the unexplainable just slip by without at least a nod of recognition. Believing in miracles allows these experiences to be much more valuable. Help them along by allowing your imagination to get involved." - Carolyn Rubenstein
Try to leave any preconceptions about art, creativity and personal limitations behind you.
“The garden of the world has no limits, except in your mind.” ― Rumi
Make some art, do it your way and have fun.
Drop the idea that you are Atlas carrying the world on your shoulders. The world would go on even without you. Don't take yourself so seriously." -Norman Vincent Peale

I really enjoyed the suggestion to think about myself as a child Elsa, because I realised my ‘original’ self (and I really like that term) is different in ways I hadn’t thought about for a long time. The family stories were all about how overly sensitive I was, always quick to cry and be injured one way or another by my siblings, a ‘weakling’, very different from my strong matriarchal self now. But your prompt made me recall myself from inside myself, separate from the stories, and I remember that I was quiet and very observant and loved being in the garden on my own and these are all things I know I would really benefit from right now. Thanks again.
Dear Nicola,
I’m glad that this post prompted you to remember yourself as a child. I try to do it intentionally as often as possible. Our inner child is still alive, we just need to pay attention to it and let it speak to us when we most need it.
Good to be reminded of these things. I need to keep in mind not to take myself too seriously. That I should lighten up, laugh, be silly and childlike – and let creativity thrive! Thanks, Elsa!

Yes LuAnn, things flow a lot more naturally when we stop taking ourselves too seriously. Enjoy yourself and smile a lot!
