We know what intuition is because we experience it often. My intuition has become sharper since I became a mother. I can feel my children’s needs deep within, it is like an invisible thread that keeps me connected to them.
One day when I was a little girl my Mom woke me up at night screaming. I didn’t understand why. She kept saying: let’s go upstairs to see your sister, something has happened to her, I just know! I just know!
I ran upstairs with my Mom to the small room where my sister was living at the time. When we opened the door we saw her on the floor, unconscious. Once again she had tried to take her life. (My sister suffers from Schizophrenia Paranoid).
Those who deal with a case of Schizophrenia in their family know how devastating this condition is. The fact that my sister needed our protection all the time developed a 6th sense in each member of our family but specially in my Mom. My Mom’s connection with my sister has always been extremely strong. Her intuition saved my sister’s life that night .
The piece in these photos was inspired by that magic thread that keeps us connected to the people that we most love. I want to dedicate it to my sister Ileana.
The human mind is a complex, mysterious and intricate place and it is also the most precious possession that we have. Those of us who don’t have to fight an unfair mental illness should never take it from granted.

How do you do that? I want to learn how to do 3-D forms like that!!! Gorgeous flowers, for example. It really is a piece full of emotion. I understand that. I tend to do my work based on something I have learned, that touches me, or that I really like. Life is full… of a lot of things. Thank you for sharing part of your “fullness” with us. My sisters son battles with depression.~ I think her heart beats a little faster than the rest of ours~ and when I look into her eyes ~ I see concern, even when she is laughing.~ I love her so much~
But~ our connection with our children is that strong.~It is the beauty & wonder of being a Mom~

I was thinking about my brother a lot this morning. He passed away 15 years ago this month. I needed to see this piece to soothe the grief and anger I still feel. A heartfelt thank you.

I just got a book in the mail called Change Your Brain Change Your Life by Dr. Daniel G. Amen. I picked up two DVD’s of his to watch. I had seen him on a PBS special.
It was an amazing show about the brain and how we need to love our brains and protect them. They don’t fully develop till we are 25yrs old.
Lots of stuff can effect the mind. What we eat, if we’ve had a brain injury, been around chemicals, etc.
Dr. Amen has clinics.
Amy Sullivan, Depression might be helped by checking to see if her son has an overgrowth of yeast in his body. You also want to find out what is causing the yeast overgrowth if that is what is causing the depression. I went to a Naturopath Doctor and found out I had it. I had been suicidal also. When I got rid of the Candidasis (Overgrowth of Yeast) I got rid of the depression and feeling suicidal and a host of other symptoms. I probably had this overgrowth since I was a child the Doctor said. I had two symptons I remember at that time in my childhood years. Lifting Your Sister’s son up in Prayer!!!

Yo también he sido consciente de esa intuición tras tener a mi pequeño, es como si estuvieramos conectados y pudieramos sentir aquello que siente el otro.
Realmente tu vida ha sido muy dura. Me abuela desde muy joven también ha tenido problemas de este tipo y siempre temí poder heredar la enfermedad. Ella lleva una medicación y su enfermedad esta controlada, es una persona maravillosa y de la que siempre hay que aprender, nos cuenta cosas extrañas pero nunca deja de sorprenderme su positivismo e inteligencia.

I think that is one of the things I love most about you. Ileana is so blessed to have a sister that doesn’t hide the truth and allows the pain and suffering to turn to healing. Your papercut created such an emotional response in me , it caught me off guard.

Thank you for sharing that amazing papercut (I can’t believe the detail) and your story about intuition. Mine also became keener when I had my children and even though they are grown and on their own, I always acknowledge that little nagging feeling and call them when it appears.

Beautiful work. My own mother suffered from schizophrenia. She passed away last March. It is a very difficult thing to see the ones you love so much suffering when you don’t have any control over it. All you can do is love them how they are.
I have 3 little girls and I definitely feel very connected to them. A mother’s intuition is a very strong thing indeed.

Beautiful moving work and story. Mental illness does develop intuition in friends and family. I see a connection between this theme and the theme of fear. My mum suffered from severe depression many years ago.

I’ve been looking at your work because i want to learn paper cutting and although I truely appreciated the detail, the techniques involved and the love that has gone into each piece I couldnt really ‘get it’ this piece however has touched my heart. It is a subject I have had to deal with in my personnel life and I feel a connection with all your pieces now, its hard to explain, im not explaining it very well. But when i look at your work again from the perspective of the complexities of the mind i feel a connection with each piece. I aspire to become a talented artist like you in the future, you have inspired me and thank you x

These comments transport me to other places, it is a nice reflection, because as I could read the intuition is a great thing we can develop during our lives.
That is interesting because I’m thinking to decorate my house and that is an excellent opportunity to get something different at home, with that method I’m gonna go to decorate my walls.
